Abuse & Neglect – Abuse and neglect make a difference every area of development. Kids and young people are influenced by abuse in several ways, outcomes of abuse vary.

Moving countries – Moving countries can have a negative affect after children and young people, socially, academically and emotionally.

These types of transitions are usually unplanned, or occur with little or no warning and subsequently could be damaging if certainly not responded and handled in the right way. These unplanned transitions will also however affect kids and young people in different ways.

Some children and adolescent people could also experience transitions such as:

The introduction of Stage Siblings

Changing schools

Change of carer

Pet dying

Parental change of partner

It is an acknowledged fact that all children and young people are confronted with transitions, although some may be affected positively plus some negatively. When children are faced with organized or unplanned transitions they may experience feelings such as for example anger, guilt, rejection and sadness. Different ways that children and little people may show the influences made by transition i.e. focus seeking behavior, friendship/peer challenges, and turning into withdrawn and calm or displaying uncharacteristic behaviors.

Children and young people moving from most important to secondary high school could find it hard to adapt to being taught extra formally. They are suddenly likely to study a wider variance of subjects, to take on more responsibility and occasionally make a fresh circle of friendships. Including changes like learning extra and having less leisure time. For most children and young persons going right through a transition such as for example moving school can impact on the learning and achievements, sometimes affecting them academically. Instantly a child is taken off their “comfort zone” and taken away from a familiar environment, from their close friends and teachers etc. The child is totally thrown of track and put into a new environment which can be extremely difficult for a child or young person to adapt too. It can have influences on a child’s learning, self esteem and sometimes leading to them no longer attempting to go to school, although some children and young people do adapt very well to this sort of transition. For instance when I was attending secondary school a young lady moved from her first school due to her parents moving nation, when she commenced attending my secondary university she settled in and adapted perfectly, proving to be very popular with her peers. It appeared to have a positive affect on the young gal but then suddenly her peers switched against her, this then led to the young girl learning to be a victim of torment and bullying. She became unhappy, silent, withdrawn and reserved. Her father and mother decided it had been in their child’s best interests to change schools once more, where she commenced to regain her self-confidence and confidence which was extremely influenced by the bullying, changing institutions and moving countries. Fortunately the next change of college had a positive influence on the youthful girl’s education and learning which considerably improved. She began acquiring buddies, displayed more self confidence and began to enjoy attending school again. Moving college can have a poor and/or positive impact on a child or young person’s habit and development. Initially a change of school proved to get a negative affect upon the young girl but fortunately the second period of moving school resulted in having a positive affect upon her, increasing her behavior and expansion. Therefore Personally i think it is important that a child’s father and mother consider their child’s contentment before making this choice, because of the positive and negative affects it can have on a child and adolescent person. Although changing academic institutions unfortunately cannot always be prevented because of unforeseen circumstances in existence.

Parental Change Of Spouse – A parent introducing their new spouse to their child can also be a challenging and tricky time. It can result in affecting a child or young person’s behavior and development. For example when I was an adolescent my mother released me to her innovative long-term partner which at that time felt such as a stranger was trying to displace my father, I also felt that her latest partner was taking away my mothers attention. Abruptly a new authoritative shape was brought in to the family. From my personal knowledge it had a undesirable affect on my patterns and production as I started out to misbehave, smoke, drink and act out because I was really angry inside and wanted to regain my mothers attention which I no more felt I possessed. I started to be an angry, depressed, withdrawn and isolated teenager, plainly displaying symptoms that I was negatively influenced, no longer being my common bubbly, happy self. My education also started suffering because of this transition as I possibly could no longer concentrate in school. On the other hand this will not always have a poor effect on children and young persons but it does need to be handled cautiously and sensitively. It can be a very challenging time for the child and young person also for the parents, members of the family and anybody else engaged.
